Grant Writing/ Blog/ Articles
One of our biggest tasks is writing grants, as well as, keeping up with our blog and articles for the press. Are you swift with the pen, or have great project ideas? Then come join us! We especially welcome projects in the following areas:
socio-cultural
art and culture (especially when they have a focus on nature and sustainability)
permaculture and garden
integration and democracy
Photo and Video Documentation
We need good documentation, from our general building/renovation projects to our cultural events.
Main House
Once our the roof is complete, there will be much to do in the main house:
Applying clay to the walls.
Building simple, wood furniture for the rooms
Creating lamps from a wood, paper and willow branch technique
Finishing/Refurbishing antique furniture
Laying electric cables
Sanding wood floors
Working creatively with the old doors
Alpaca Stable
Clay, wood and a green roof. It is not too complex, therefore we plan to use our own trees and recycled materials. Here you are welcome to join in and learn something about wood, wood joints, alpacas and alpaca stables. Trees can be stripped, or the basic steel structure derusted.
Courtyard
This large concrete space (1000 m2) is screaming for paint, plants, trees and art. The plants and trees have to wait until construction on the main house is complete. The outer walls and doors of the industrial halls can already be painted; their sad, gray color transformed into gleeful colors. In the future there will be lots of opportunities in the courtyard for artistic actions, which we warmly welcome.
Garden
Employing permaculture ideas and principles, we have laid raised beds between rows of fruit trees and berries, followed the lasagna bed model, mulched intensively, collected rainwater, but still can’t keep up with the garden. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HELP IN THE GARDEN!! You are welcome to apply your know-how here and go for it!
Escape Room (the old boiler room)
The plan for the old boiler room is to be transformed into an escape room with DDR flare. Slowly we are collecting ideas for a story. At the moment the space could use a thorough clearning and cleaning.
